Recently, lots of makeup brands have begun expanding their color pallets for a more inclusive business. But Rare Beauty, founded by Selena Gomez specifically, has raised the bar of inclusivity (on top of a wide range of skin-colors) and has made her products disability-friendly. This is the first makeup brand known for making inclusive products for not just all races, but also the disabled. For example, each product she has created has a sphere at the top of the container which allows for an easier grip to open. Packaging on her products are also easy to open due to the design as well as smaller products having flat edges so they do not fall off a table.
“accepting who you are - and finding the comfort in your imperfections”
Selena wanted to create products to help women feel comfortable doing their make-up, since she suffers from Lupus. Her products are at such high demand because more women who are a part of these minorities are buying her product. Selenas company’s total revenue has been increasing due to this high demand. This makes Rare Beauty a monopoly because there is not an exact substitute for this brand since it is so unique.
